Meditative Scripture Reading
Study Guide for Meditative Bible Reading
This self-study guide is a companion document to the video course Meditative Scripture Reading. This guide will help you to access the promises of God in His word. Scriptures are like seed and when you plant them in your heart, they can grow into trees that bear fruit (the promises of God). Learning how to plant the seed so that it will grow requires that you follow specific instructions. This guide is designed to help learn God’s recipes for a fruitful life.
When meditating on the scriptures as you read them at home, remember these guidelines:
Level 101 – You can choose one of two versions of the bible to read the scriptures – New International Versions (NIV) or New Living Translation (NLT)
Level 201 – After reading the bible in one version, go through the exercise again with another version of the bible like New King James Version (NKJV) or the American Standard Version (ASV)
Level 301 & Level 401 – After reading the bible in 2 versions and practicing the meditative reading as outlined in the video, look up words that stand out to you in a dictionary to get a deeper understanding of what God may be saying to you.
Using this technique will not only help you to remember the scripture but it will also plant it within your soul and help with the mind and soul renewal process.
