This lesson is on the Power of your Thoughts, Intentions and Your Words. The Bible has a lot to say about our speech and what our words can do.
Proverbs 12:18 NIV
The words of the reckless pierce like swords, but the tongue of the wise brings healing.
Proverbs 15:4 ESV
A gentle tongue is a tree of life, but perverseness in it breaks the spirit.
Proverbs 15:28 NLT
The heart of the godly thinks carefully before speaking.
Proverbs 16:24 NIV
Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.
Proverbs 18:21 NIV
The tongue has the power of life and death, and those who love it will eat its fruit.
Proverbs 25:11 NASB
Like apples of gold in settings of silver is a word spoken in right circumstances.
Matthew 15:11 NLT
It’s not what goes into your mouth that defiles you; you are defiled by the words that come out of your mouth.
Our words create just as God’s word creates.
Japanese Scientist Masuru Emoto wrote a book called the Hidden Messages in Water which is a study of what happens to water when words were spoken into it or songs were played over it. From this research we were able to see that when frozen after the words were spoken crystals formed in the water based on what was said.
He also did research of children sending their thoughts towards a glass of water and the same thing happened with just their thoughts.
Researchers did a study on the intentions of partners towards their loved ones in the hospital. Compassionate intention as a therapeutic intervention by partners of cancer patients: effects of distant intention on the patients’ autonomic nervous system – PubMed
Science is catching up and able to now document things that we know from the Bible and this is exciting!
One of the latest discoveries is that the cells within the human body vibrates and gives off a sound. The sound is actually different based on where the cell is located in the body, it’s function and whether or not it is a healthy cell.
What does this mean to us? It means that our words can change things, our thoughts and intentions can also do the same. This makes us realize that what we say and what we reflect on in our minds is very important to the outcome of our lives and those around us.
